VISIT DATE: SAT 20/09/2025 VISIT TIME: 17:45 - 18:45 Fantastic food, friendly staff, plenty of seating… we absolutely love this place! Have been coming here every time I visit Southend for the last 4 years and we’ve never been disappointed. This is a traditional, family run, restaurant with everything on the menu that you’d expect from a proper fish and chip shop, including kids meals and senior citizens offers. Spilt across two sides, we always make use of the restaurant section as we can then take advantage of the little soft play at the back, as well as enjoying having our food on plates, but if you don’t need / want that, you can save a few quid by eating in the fish and chip shop side, sitting outside or having it takeaway. Both sides have step-free access, there is an accessible toilet with baby change facilities, and gender neutral toilets at the back. Plenty of parking nearby, but as it’s on the sea front, parking is expensive. Check the restaurant website, or visit the local authority website (who manage the parking) for more details. My only, genuine, complaint about this place is that because it is so good, we’ve never tried anywhere else!
Had some lunch here today and it was amazing, ingredients! Best curry sauce ive ever had! Staff are so warm, welcoming, friendly and helpful. All food is served fresh and hot. Really really recommend this place!!
Great quick service. Delicious fish and chips. Plenty on seating. Asked for a locals opinion where I should I try fish and chips and he recommended this place. Did not disappointed
Very good and friendly service, delicious fish and chips which we were pleased to learn is all fried and prepared separately to prevent cross contamination. Owner is fantastic and had such a positive bubbly demeanour even when we were the last customers! Will definitely return!
Have eaten here twice in the last 3 days. My daughter is saveloy obsessed (ASD) she said and I quote “this is the best saveloy ever!” We have tried the fish and chips which was also delicious. Curry sauce was thick and tasty. Only thing I would say is we did use the soft play which was a lovely added bonus but too many parents in there not keeping an eye on their children. I would impose it that only parents supervising are allowed to let their children in. Not the staffs fault at all. Great food and great service!! Will definitely go back if in the area.
Had the most delicious salavloy, chips and curry sauce here! Soft play was a life saver whilst the 3 kids were waiting for their food. Lovely staff. Even changed the chicken burger meal to a kids sized one for my daughter and Charged less! Very good value for money. I can't remember the last time I finished a chippy meal, was delicious! Cost 30 pound for 1 adult 3 kids. We had 5 drinks all together.
My son loved it here so much he insisted we go back, so we visited twice in one weekend. The soft play was great, such a good idea, but the young ladies who were working on Friday lunchtime where honestly the nicest and friendliest staff I’ve ever encountered anywhere. He wants to come back next year. Food was good, arrived quickly and the toilets were fine. Photo is the kids half eaten fish and chips.
